Celebrating life at Seabrook
In their Maths lesson Year 1 have been learning about 3D shapes. They looked at a variety of 3D shapes and sorted them into their correct groups. Great work Year 1!
Stick Man left Rainbow Fish Class a note in the tree. He needed their help to find his stick family. Rainbow Fish Class enjoyed exploring and comparing the sticks that they had found. They ordered them from the shortest to the longest stick. It was great fun making a new stick home for Stick Man and his family.
In Jigsaw, we have been talking about the people in our family. Rainbow Fish Class used pebbles to make the people in their family.
Is it absorbent?
In Starfish Class Science lesson the children tested materials to see which were able to absorb water. Firstly we discussed how to create a fair test and then the children took it in turns to test different materials. The children found out that paper was the most absorbent as it soaked up most of the water! Fantastic investigating Starfish!
The school was invited to St Martin’s Church for a special service with Revered Stephen, who talked about the significance and symbolism of light in the Bible and how important it is for us to share our light with those around us. Thank you to Reverend Stephen for a wonderful worship.
Rainbow Fish Class Worship
The children listened to the Bible story of Moses crossing the Red Sea and acted out the story. Moses helped people to cross the Red Sea and Rainbow Fish Class then thought carefully about how they could help each other.
Children in Need
Rainbow Fish Class enjoyed finding out about Pudsey Bear and how the charity helps to raise money for Children in Need.
Year 6 proudly led a special Remembrance worship for the whole school on Friday. This poignant worship gave us the opportunity to give thanks and to reflect on the sacrifices made by so many, both past and present.
Remembrance Day
Rainbow Fish Class created poppies to give thanks to the soldiers and the peace that they've secured for us all. "Thank you for helping us and keeping us safe." "We will remember the soldiers." "Thank you for helping others." "Peace and hope."

The Best Diwali Ever
Rainbow Fish Class enjoyed finding out about Diwali and how it is celebrated. They decorated their home corner with lights, flowers and rangoli patterns. Outside, they created their own rangoli patterns using coloured rice, sand and pasta. They also listened to the story of Rama and Sita and they acted out the story in the small world area.
In Explore Time, a group of children in Rainbow Fish Class decided to set up for their own Class Worship time. They set up the cloth, candle and cross as well as singing a welcome song. It was great to see them acting out the story that they had listened to from the Bible in our Class Worship time.

We had a very exciting visit from our District Librarian this morning who came to Seabrook to award us with the Summer Reading Challenge winners’ trophy! Congratulations again to everyone who took part, we are so proud!
Harvest Festival
On Friday 11th October it was wonderful to gather together for our Harvest Festival and to welcome so many family members into school to celebrate this special time of year and give thanks, reflecting on how our food is grown and harvested. We were so proud of how all of the children performed their songs, poems and readings with so much enthusiasm and plenty of smiles - they were all fantastic! We would also like to say a big thank you for your very kind harvest food donations.
Swordfish and Jellyfish Classes took part in ‘Restart A Heart Day’, which is a campaign run by Air Ambulance that aims to teach children valuable live saving skills such as CPR. The children all found the session very informative, including the opportunity to put some of their new knowledge of CPR into practice by joining in with the Air Ambulance team.
Jellyfish class created a physical representation of a network using string and then went on a 'network safari'. The children followed the network cables into other classrooms to learn how a network functions and find the different components that are connected to it. What fun!
Starfish Class have been learning about the weather and seasons as part of science this term. Here are the children using all of their knowledge to become weather reporters! Watch this space, some of them might be on our TVs in the future!
Rainbow Fish have been looking at the book 'Home'. They have been exploring different types of homes and have enjoyed making different homes today. They made a house boat, a cottage and even an igloo.
In DT this term the children have been looking at structures and creating windmills. These photos include some of the design process as well as testing at the end. The children tried many different methods to get their windmills to turn and showed great perseverance throughout their learning! Super impressed Starfish! 🌟
What a fantastic few days we had at Windmill Hill for our PGL residential trip at the beginning of October! The children were fantastic throughout the trip and they persevered, collaborated brilliantly in teams, encouraged & supported each other and pushed themselves beyond their comfort zones - all whilst making many happy memories to last a lifetime. Well done everyone - we are so proud of you all! We hope you enjoyed a well deserved rest over the weekend!
Nature Pizza
In the class story, Mr Bear decides to make himself a pizza and he added all of his favourite ingredients. Rainbow Fish Class set up their own pizza shop to serve delicious pizzas topped with natural objects that they found in the mud kitchen.
In PE Starfish Class looked at symmetrical and asymmetrical spins. The children were able to use different points of their bodies to create different routines with spins. Well done Starfish!
Everybody Matters Day
Although we believe everybody matters everyday, it was very special to dedicate this day specifically and learn more about each other. The children brought in sentimental items and explained why they were so special to them. They also took part in a music making session which allowed them the freedom to use a variety of instruments and play them in a way that felt right to them. This day was definitely one of their favourite days, that’s for sure!
Rainbow Fish Class were really excited to meet their buddies in Swordfish Class. They enjoyed showing them the things that they enjoy doing in Rainbow Fish Class. They are excited to spend some more time getting to know them.
The Rainbow Fish Class had a fantastic day celebrating ‘Elmer Day’ on Friday, where they thought about similarities and differences between themselves and their friends, such as their favourite foods, favourite colours and what they enjoy playing. They reflected on how although none of us look the same as each other and we all enjoy different things, we are all special and unique in our own ways…just like Elmer The Elephant in the story!
Jellyfish Class are learning about the story of Creation in RE. Last week the children went into our spiritual garden to find amazing creations in nature. This week the class got comfortable and listened to the Creation story while visualising our beautiful world coming into existence.
Everybody Matters
Rainbow Fish Class listened to the parable of the Lost Sheep. In this parable, the shepherd dropped everything to go and search for his missing sheep (even though he had 99 more). Rainbow Fish Class learnt that at Seabrook School, we value each individual because we believe God cares for us all.
