A warm welcome to Seabrook Church of England Primary School’s website! Nestled between Folkestone and Hythe, Seabrook is situated beside Hythe Canal and mere metres from the English Channel. With approximately 107 pupils on roll, organised into four classes, we are one big family under the roof of our small school.

The children even transferred their 'Magic Beans' to bigger pots to sell as stock and thought really carefully about what else a garden centre might have. What a fabulous sunny walk the  Rainbow Fish Class had today!  The children found so many interesting signs of spring, and took notice of the tiniest changes since  their walk in the Autumn term.  On return to the school, they continued their investigations, looking closely at newly formed buds and shoots just starting to poke through the earth.

This afternoon, Swordfish Class investigated different components within a series circuit. The children practised using standardised symbols to draw diagrams of their circuits and discussed why some circuits work and others don’t. The class discussed safety when using electrical items and how to check when equipment is faulty. The children enjoyed using a variety of components but it is safe to say that the class favourite was the motorised fan!

In science today, Starfish Class talked about different types of weather and the weather we see at different times of the year. As we were lucky enough to have beautiful sunny afternoon we were able to take our learning outside. The children found out about how shadows are created when the sun is shining and how these change throughout the day. In the photos below the children are drawing around the shadows to discover how much they would move over the course of the afternoon.
