Phonics Screening

At the end of Year 1 a Phonics Assessment now takes place. For the academic year 2016/2017 93.3% of our Year 1 children achieved the required standard, which is significantly higher than the national average.

Merit Assembly

Every Monday morning we hold a merit assembly where we celebrate the achievements of those children whose names have been written in the “Merit Book”. Certificates are sent home with the children. Last year we introduced the “Merit Cup” which is awarded to one child each week.

Prize Giving

At the end of each school year we hold our annual prize giving at the Folkestone School for Girls. It gives us an opportunity to celebrate the children’s success and talent.
